$50 Million Diamond Lofts Gets the Green Light

After two years of planning and plenty of back and forth with neighbors, the Buffalo Planning Board approved the Diamond Lofts project on Main Street Monday night. The McNamara team will convert the old seven story Diamond Moving and Storage building at 1440 Main into 42 apartments and build a brand new five story building next door at 1458 Main with 132 more units. That's 167 new apartments total, plus a two level parking garage with 130 spaces. Some Linwood Avenue residents weren't thrilled about the new construction behind the historic building, but the board gave it the go ahead. This is another big win for Main Street's comeback.

Bills at the Combine: Bass, Hoecht, and Jackson All Expected Back

Brandon Beane hit the podium at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis today with good news on three key injured players. Kicker Tyler Bass, who missed all of 2025 with hip and groin injuries, is expected to return as the team's kicker. Edge rushers Michael Hoecht (Achilles tear) and Landon Jackson (knee) are also on track to come back. Beane also announced the team restructured Spencer Brown's contract, freeing up about $10.4 million in cap space. The new salary cap is projected between $301 and $306 million, and Buffalo has work to do to get under it before the new league year starts March 11. The Bills own pick No. 26 in the draft and are looking hard at wide receivers and pass rushers.
